When I ducked over to London for a long weekend with the girls, little did I expect that we would end up being summoned to a parole hearing… and at the London Transport Museum at that!
Project X is an intriguing immersive-theatre experience where you work in a group to solve a time-travelling murder-mystery. While we started in the London Transport Museum, much of the action took place on the streets around Covent Garden. We encountered a range of crazily-dressed characters along the way and I have to hand it to the actors for their brilliant improvisation skills, which never wavered (even when our group was a little slow on the uptake).
Without giving the plot away, I can say that there were some holes in the story (as is often the case with any form of improv) but it was an incredibly fun way to spend a couple of hours and was unlike anything I’ve ever done before. This is not one for shy types, as you will be dragged into the action. Being a somewhat dramatic type, I loved it!
Project X starts and ends at the London Transport Museum, 11am to 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays until 4 November 2012. The experience lasts approximately two hours. Tickets cost £30/£25, including return entry to the museum, 2-for-1 cocktails at the cafe and 10% off at the Museum store. Book online and find more information on the Project X website.
