lusting for: handmade jewelry
When I was recently told that the Franklin Mint has started selling jewelry, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Based on what I’d heard of the mail order retailer, tiny statues of Princess Diana and Marilyn Monroe hanging off gold necklaces sprang to my mind.
Fortunately, my overactive imagination was totally off base. While it still offers its selection traditional commemorative dolls and coins, The Franklin Mint is actually undergoing a bit of a sneaky rebrand and has a surprisingly cool selection of handmade jewelry.
Personally I’m a big fan of Romero Britto’s gold and silver jewelry suite, including this cute necklace (right). It’s available for US$175 but you also have the option of monthly payments, which could be quite useful with the expensive of the festive season coming up. Perhaps there’s somebody on my “nice” list who deserves this little trinket.
