lusting for: back in brisbane dress
As you know, I’m back in Brisbane and have been here for a bit over a year now. It’s my hometown but I never considered it was somewhere that was actually cool to be. I mean, there are some pretty great things about the city (300+ days of sunshine comes to mind, along with the recently closed Valentino Retrospective at GoMA) but is it a fashion inspiration in itself? Apparently so!
Modcloth recently released the Back in Brisbane Dress, which has the laid-back style one would expect a dress named for my town to have. The brown self-stripe material coupled with the loops of excess fabric would be perfectly at home riding the CityCat, at a picnic in New Farm Park or wandering through Southbank.
I got the same thrill when I saw the dress that I get when I see something that has my own name (like these Seychelles Lauren Pumps, which incidentally would go quite nicely with the dress). I mean, when I was living State-side, nobody even knew where Brisbane was and now it has a namesake dress. Too cool!
If you want to share my hometown pride, you can purchase your own from Modcloth for a very reasonable $69.99.
