in the news: virgin blue on the runway
February 24, 2011 in fashion, news
I’ll admit I’m not usually keen on corporate uniforms – I love the fun of choosing what to wear each day – but I’m rather impressed with Virgin Blue’s new compulsory wear.
Project Runway Australia winner Julie Grbac designed the eye-catching red and purple outfits, which replace the more sedate tan and red outfits formerly worn by the hosties.
Grbac’s inspiration came from the 1960s, when flight attendants were the most glamorous and stylish of women.
The men haven’t been forgotten either, looking sharp in three piece suits with bold neckties.
Richard Branson wasn’t there for yesterday’s launch but Aussie supermodel Elle Macpherson led the hosties down the runway – and I must say she looks fabulous, doesn’t she?

Oh man, Elle M looks fabulous at her age. Her body is amazing!
I’m not sure about the red uniforms though. They look abit too business-like?

Jen – I’m so jealous of Elle and hope I look half as fab as she does when I’m her age!
The original shot looks like Elle was edited into the photo. She is way flawlesssss…….
Lindsay – isn’t she incredible? Surely there’s more to looking that amazing than good lingerie…
