lusting for: pure threads

Emma Watson is one of my favourite young stars – she’s smart, stylish and sticks by causes that are important to her.

She already designs her own line for nonprofit fair-trade organic fashion organisation People Tree, but now she’s expanding her influence through a new collaboration with Alberta Ferretti.

Pure Threads by Emma Watson Alberta Ferretti will be a five-piece, lace-embellished capsule collection. Like her People Tree line, the collection will be made from eco-friendly materials including cotton poplin, cotton muslin, and hemp.

According to Ferretti via WWD, “Emma had a Jane-Birkin-in-the-seventies image in mind.” From the sneak peak pictured, she seems to have successfully channelled that inspiration in a modern way.

The collection will be available exclusively on the Alberta Ferretti website from 21 March. Prices range from $345, to $1,173, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to People Tree.

While she today announced she’s postponing her studies at Brown University to focus on her career, I think there’s no keeping this stylish and smart cookie down!
