J.Crew has followed Anthropologie’s lead and announced its expansion into the British fashion marketplace.

The stylishly preppy store has been selling a capsule collection through Net-a-Porter for the past 12 months or so, but a full stand-alone online store will launch in August or September this year.

Global awareness of the brand grew dramatically on the back of Michelle Obama’s fondness for the label and it seems J.Crew is looking to fill a specific gap in the British market.

According to The Telegraph, J.Crew prices will fall somewhere between the high street and the designer brands (probably slightly more expensive the Whistles and Reiss). It will be more expensive than in the US due to import duties.

No bricks-and-mortar stores have been announced at this stage.
