best dressed at the royal wedding
Of course, the best dressed at the wedding was the bride, the gorgeous Duchess of Cambridge (formerly known as Kate Middleton) in her Alexander McQueen gown.
But what about the guests?
Socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson wore one of the more memorable outfits – head to toe royal blue (including gloves, shoes and hat!)
Prime Minister David Cameron’s wife, Samantha, went against tradition and didn’t wear a hat, though her teal Burberry dress sold out on Net-A-Porter within minutes of her arrival at Westminster Abbey.
Prince Harry’s girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, also opted for teal. Her dress was designed by Alberta Ferretti and topped with a matching silk faille jacket.
Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice wore crazy hats and edgy outfits, with Eugenie opting for dusky pink Valentino and Beatrice wearing peacock Vivienne Westwood.
I adored mother-of-the-bride Carole Middleton’s pale blue dress and coat by Catherine Walker (incidentally, one of Princess Diana’s favourite designers) with her matching Jane Corbett hat.
However my choice for best dressed was mother-to-be Victoria Beckham (pictured). She wore a navy dress from her own collection (although slightly adjusted to accommodate her bump) with platform Christian Louboutin heels. Her hair was slicked back in a sleek ponytail and topped with a stunning hat by Philip Treacy. Her husband, David Beckham, didn’t scrub up too badly either in his Ralph Lauren Purple Label morning suit.
Who do you think was the best dressed guest?
