best dressed at the 2011 logies
May 2, 2011 in fashion
The Logies is Australia’s equivalent of the Emmy’s (though slightly more painful to watch) and usually the big stars stick to the patriotic theme by wearing Australian designs. Here are the top trends from the big night.
Halter necklines: Esther Anderson in crimson Alex Perry worked this trend to maximum effect, while Megan Gale (who coincidentally originally wore Esther’s gown on the runway) worked a white halter gown by the same designer.
Thigh-high splits: Australia’s Next Top Model host Charlotte Dawson‘s red, long sleeved gown was demure except for when she braved the stairs, while Sonia Kruger‘s white gown was not so innocent. Wildest of all was Laura Dundovic in her leopard halter gown that gave the crowd a peek at her panties – not cool.
White gowns: This was one of the hottest trends of the night! Aside from the ladies mentioned above, my favourites were Erin McNaught in long-sleeved Aurelio Costarella and Jessica Marais in a beautifully detailed J’Aton gown.
I may have never heard of her before I saw her on the red carpet but Home and Away‘s Esther Anderson was definitely one of my picks for best dressed in her crimson Alex Perry, but I was also a big fan of Packed to the Rafters star Jessica Marais in her gorgeous J’Aton gown (pictured).
Who do you think was Australia’s best dressed last night?

I missed the logies last night! Everyone is still talking about the royal wedding..hehe. There wasn’t much mention of the logies in my issue of who mag today. Thanks for summary, I will check out the gowns!
@Vintageglammz – personally I think the royal wedding was more exciting too! I missed the ceremony but I saw the list of winners – a few surprises, I think…
