best dressed at cannes: day one

The Cannes International Film Festival kicked off yesterday in the south of France with the premiere of Woody Allen’s new film, Midnight in Paris.

The stars were there dressed to the nines but Rachel McAdams’ sheer red and nude Marchesa was definitely the most eye catching on the red carpet.

There’s no denying the dress was amazing but personally, I prefered the white Maxime Simoens dress that she wore to the photo call earlier in the day (right). It featured gorgeous floral accents on the shoulders and hips, and was a perfect choice for a daytime event.

Interestingly, juror Uma Thurman also chose to wear a white, knee-length frock (hers was designed by Dolce & Gabbana). Is this the hot new trend for spring, perhaps?

Which of McAdams’ looks do you prefer?

  • Ahh, yes i prefer the white Maxime Simoens on Rachel too! I think the other one was a very ambitious choice for her – it looked strange and not like the classy Rachel I’ve seen in the media! But then…i have conservative views 🙂
