October 6, 2011 in movies
I’m always intrigued by films that tell the hidden stories behind famous faces (such as The King’s Speech) so you can be sure I’m eagerly anticipating the release of My Week With Marilyn.
The film documents the tense interaction between Laurence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh) and Marilyn Monroe (Michelle Williams) during production of The Prince and the Showgirl, as seen through the eyes of Olivier’s employee Colin Clark (Eddie Redmayne). On a side note, it’s also our first real chance to see Emma Watson wearing something other than her Hogwarts robes.
My Week With Marilyn hits cinemas in the US on 4 November before opening in the UK on 18 November. It will be released in Australia on 5 January 2012.
