(almost) at the movies: snow white and the huntsman

Snow White is having a bit of a moment right now. This film is one of two due for release next year (the other called Mirror, Mirror stars Lily Collins and Julia Roberts as the heroine and villan respectively) and new TV show, Once Upon A Time, also has a strong Snow White storyline. Interestingly, each of the three plots is a dark take on the classic fairytale.

Snow White and the Huntsman stars Kristen Stewart with skin as white as snow and lips as red as blood (so, not that much of a change from Twilight, really), Chris Hemsworth (previously seen as Thor) as her Huntsman, and Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen.

Check out the trailer below and let me know what you think of this dark interpretation.

Snow White and the Huntsman is due to be released in both the US and the UK on 1 June 2012.

  • I’m definitely interested in the “darker” versions of Snow White and more interested the Charlize Theron version, but I have a hard time imagining Kristen Stewart is more beautiful than Charlize Theron! I think Kristen Stewart looks like a boy compared to her!

  • I’m personally a big Kristen Stewart fan so I am excited about this movie and a potential badass Snow White – but honestly I think Kristen is way prettier than they are making her look in this film (from what I can tell from the preview). So the way she looks in the film vs Charlize Theron … Terrie is right!
