best dressed at the 2012 critics choice awards

January 13, 2012 in fashion

The stars backed up last night for the Critics Choice Awards and while it was a slightly more formal affair than the People’s Choice Awards, I’m happy to report the ladies kept pushing the boundaries with their frocks.

Colours were a little more sedate than the night before and below are my top trends of the night.

Yellow: Elizabeth Olsen looked positively spring-like in her short Pucci dress, Ahna O’Reilly went for a pop of yellow on the hem of her Honor tea dress but I thought Diane Kruger worked it best in her grey and yellow Prada halter.

Pinks: My two favourite looks in this trend were Jessica Chastain in candy pink Balenciaga and Viola Davies, who looked a true leading lady in coral Raoul.

Black: Kirsten Dunst looked pretty in Christian Dior but Charlize Theron worked it to perfection in her scalloped-detail gown by Azzedine Alaia.

Runners-up for my best dressed are The Help co-stars Viola Davies and Emma Stone, who wore a gorgeous emerald and navy print Jason Wu gown. However, my favourite look of the night was Michelle Williams (above) in her black and white Chanel.
