in the news: buy carrie’s apartment
March 12, 2012 in news
Back before the movies and the prequel series, did you ever watch Sex and the City and wish you could live in Carrie’s apartment? Well, now you can!
Sort of.
The building at 64 Perry Street, which served as the facade for Carrie’s apartment for the first three seasons (before she “moved” next door to #66), is far from containing a small rent controlled apartment – it is actually a single grand townhouse with an asking price of $9.65 million!
Inside, it looks nothing like Carrie’s place but it is incredibly gorgeous (as one would expect for the price). In fact, it looks more like the gorgeous pre-war apartment that Carrie and Big bought before their (aborted) wedding in the first movie.
Apparently Tim Gunn lived at #64 (in real life) and he shared the fascinating history of the house with the New York Times when the house was last on the market in September 2011.
