friday film: chanel’s little black jacket
March 16, 2012 in fashion
Since last week’s post about brand goggles, I’ve been thinking a lot about investment clothing vs trend clothing. I think there’s real merit to investing in classic items (a white silk blouse, a great pair of black pants, a gorgeous trench) but trend items are probably better off being purchased on the high street.
One investment item I would love to have one day (i.e. a day when money is no longer an object) is a Chanel Little Black Jacket. The LBJ, much like the Chanel-pioneered LBD, is timeless and – as the film below shows – exquisitely made. The work that goes into each piece is incredible and helps show why those who can afford to invest, do.
Enjoy – and have a gorgeous weekend!

I would love to be able to afford a wardrobe that is perfectly-fitted, timeless and will last for the rest of my life. Sigh …
