About six months ago, we got confirmation that the Sex and the City prequel, The Carrie Diaries, was being made by the CW.
Now we get to see the first picture of young Carrie, played by AnnaSophia Robb – and she doesn’t look too bad! She’s got the trademark curls, the heels and a fashion-forward look.
In the series, Carrie will be in her senior year of high school during the 80s, but it looks like she escaped into New York for this scene. Perhaps on work experience?

What do you think of the new, younger Carrie?
I saw the prom dress pic and about died! I’m excited for the series and the actress they go to play the young Carrie – but I can’t help being nervous when someone tries to mess with something I already love! And I haven’t read the books – is this series going to be 80s themed then?
@respect the shoes: I think I’m equal parts nervous and excited about the series too. I haven’t read the books either but from what I understand, the series is set in the early 80s around the time Carrie finishes school in Connecticut and then moves down to NYC.
