eating out: bone daddies

I’m going to put it out there and say this is the best ramen in town! My absolute favourite pick of the menu is the T22 (£10), made on chicken broth with soy ramen, chicken, cock scratchings (photo above). For dinner or a big lunch, the two of us will each order a bowl, supplemented with delicious bites of fried chicken (£6) and soft shell crap with green chili and ginger dipping sauce (£8.50). I’m also partial to a lychee sakitini (£9 – vodka, lychee infused sake and lychee spirit) when I’m drinking or a Mr Sparkle (£4.20 – cucumber, pink grapefruit, oolong) when i’m not.
The mood is laid back, but fun. The walls are decorated with vintage Japanese photos and paraphernalia, with 80s-90s rock/grunge as mood music. The service can sometimes be a little slow, but the staff are always friendly.
Bone Daddies now also has a late night menu from 11pm – midnight on Thursday – Saturday to help you combat those pre-last tube hunger pangs!
The good: The ramen. Seriously, it’s incredible!
The bad: It can be quite loud inside so it’s not the spot for a romantic evening or in-depth conversation.
The insider tip: Forgot to tie your hair up? No problem! Look through the jars on the table in front of you until you find the complimentary hair elastics (you don’t want hair in your soup!)
