Everyone is a-twitter today at the news of Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom’s secret wedding. The details are still very sketchy so no photos of the dress or confirmation on the location yet but I’m sure that will come at some point.
The couple issued a statement confirming the news this morning and Kerr’s grandmother (who could always be counted on for the inside scoop) confirmed that she was not at the “out of the blue” wedding and neither were Kerr’s parents.
The blushing bride will due to star in David Jones’ Spring/Summer collection launch next month but she has now cancelled her trip.
“David Jones very graciously released me during this period so we could celebrate an intimate ceremony and honeymoon together,” Kerr says in the statement. “I’m very much a part of the David Jones Family and I am very committed to my role. I am enormously grateful to David Jones to have been given this time to enjoy such a special moment in my life.”
Walking in Kerr’s place will be fellow Australian modelling exports – Abbey Lee, Catherine McNeil, Nicole Trunfio and Alexandra Agostan.
“Abbey-Lee, Nicole, Catherine and Alexandra will bring to the catwalk a supercharged, international element of glamour and excitement. They are among the most in demand models globally and are the perfect fit to exclusively represent David Jones for the Spring Summer Fashion Launch. I feel extremely confident that I have left the Summer Fashion Launch in the best possible hands,” Kerr concluded.
Congratulations to the happy couple and I for one can’t wait to see Kerr’s dress!
