lusting for: colette’s shoes

April 11, 2011 in fashion

I’m going to Paris this weekend and I’m so excited to get the chance to visit one of my favourite concept stores in person.

Colette is right in the heart of Paris’ luxury district on Rue Saint-Honoré and houses an amazing selection of clothing, accessories, books, art and a “water bar”, where you can choose from over 100 different types of mineral water.

One of the things I’m most looking forward to checking out is the shoe collection, which is always incredible.

At the moment, my favourite pair would have to be these pumps by Nicholas Kirkwood. They’re made from woven cotton and flax – and isn’t the colour just divine?

Sadly I’ll just be window shopping because this pair would set me back €495 (that’s US $596.03).

If you love this pair as much as I do but you’re not planning to be in Paris any time soon, you can check them out through Colette’s online store.

in the news: daft punk does coke

I know your first thought when you read the title was probably a little more illicit than the truth – Daft Punk has teamed up with Coca-Cola for the 2011 edition of Coke Club.

Last year, we saw Karl Lagerfeld’s stylish take on the contour bottle and Daft Punk’s version is also quite elegant, if a little plain.

The silver and gold aluminum bottles are inspired by the band’s helmets and come in a club-appropriate collector box (see photo). The set will be available from Monday at Colette for €52.

Coca-Cola has also announced that an exclusive item that will be unveiled during May on daftcoke.com, with an online contest organised to win this object – if you’re a fan of the band, I’d keep an eye on the site!

P.S. Happy St Patrick’s Day to our Irish (and a wee bit Irish) readers!

lusting for: dc comic fashion

When you were a kid, did you tie a towel around your neck and pretend to be a superhero? Well, now Colette is giving you the chance to live out your fantasy in a more fashionable way.

The iconic French store has collaborated with several fabulous designers to celebrate DC Comics’ 75th anniversary. Superhero inspired garments include Green Lantern gloves by Karl Lagerfeld, Plastic Man shades by Thierry Lasry and a dog Batman t-shirt by Lanvin’s menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver.

My favourite has to be Roger Vivier’s thigh high boots inspired by Catwoman – she may be a supervillan but being bad never looked so good!
