Debbie Reynolds is not just a famous actress – it seems she’s also quite the collector of Hollywood memorabilia. Her amazing collection has been amassed over 40 years but now she’s decided to part with it through an auction on 18 June 2011.

Looking through the listing catalogue is like reading a list of every iconic movie costume ever, so makes sense that the auction is deemed to be the most significant collection of Hollywood costumes and props since the liquidation of the MGM and FOX studios in the 1970s.

There’s Marilyn Monroe’s red sequin dress from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. There’s Judy Garland’s dress and ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz. There’s Richard Burton’s Marc Antony costume and Elizabeth Taylor’s headdress from Cleopatra. There’s Audrey Hepburn’s Ascot race dress from My Fair Lady. There’s Julie Andrew’s peasant dress and guitar from The Sound Of Music. There’s even Charlie Chaplain’s bowler hat!
