lusting for: crayola nail polish

July 19, 2012 in fashion

I loved Crayola crayons as a kid, with all those beautiful colours and endless possibilities. Now, that little piece of childhood is available for us to enjoy as adults!

Crayola has released a mini nail polish set and it’s incredibly cute, with perfect colours for summer. Some polishes are glittery, some are metallic and the others are solids. My personal favourites are the robin’s egg blue and plum.

Preorder your set from Fred Flare for $12.

lusting for: YSL french manicure

August 3, 2010 in fashion

Do you love the polished look of a French manicure but wish it could somehow express your personality a little more? No? Oh, just me then.

Regardless, I’m sure you’ll love Yves Saint Laurent’s new take on the classic French mani, which substitutes classic pink and white for bold alternatives – just choose whichever one you like for the nail and use the other for the tip.

My favourite polish duo from the “Rock et Baroque” collection is a deep violet paired with turquoise (Belle de Jour). Other pairs include a hot pink and orange (Rive Gauche) or plum with gold (Belle de nuit). There’s also the classic pink and white if you so desire.

The collection hits French stores on 8 August so keep an eye on local counters after that. See more at vogue.fr.

lusting for: world cup nails

June 18, 2010 in fashion

I have a confession to make – I’m a bit of a World Cup tragic at the moment (I did get up at 4am on Monday morning to watch Australia’s dismal first game, after all). I’m not normally a sports-mad girl so I’m not sure why every four years I descend into a primitive state where I want to fight tooth-and-nail for my country.

If I was in London, I’d definitely take care of the “nail” part of that fight by stopping into WAH Nails – check out their incredible World Cup-inspired nail art (right). They’re even offering 10% off during the World Cup if you get your own country’s design (make sure you take your passport). You can find locations on the WAH Nails website.

And don’t forget to cheer for Australia tomorrow night against Ghana – we need all the support we can get!
