I love The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger – I own the book in two languages and have seen the film adaption starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway more times than I can count – so I’m very excited by the news out of Camp Weisberger today.

The author and former Vogue assistant is in the process of writing a sequel to the novel, due out April 2013.

Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns picks up eight years after the original novel. According to Entertainment Weekly, Andy is now editing The Plunge, the hottest bridal magazine around, alongside Emily (yes, the former first assistant is now her BFF). While Andy is planning her own wedding to Max, a handsome media scion, she remains haunted by her impeccably heeled former boss — and the magazine world being as small as it is, it’s only a matter of time before she hears the dreaded syllables “Ahn-dre-ah!” again.

another chance to meet anna wintour

Did you miss yesterday’s post about how to become Anna Wintour’s assistant? Perhaps you just weren’t the lucky bidder who won the experience (for the very reasonable final price of $42,500).

The Vogue NYC Package includes a meet and greet with Anna Wintour, tickets to a fashion show during New York Fashion Week, an Alexander Wang Leather Duffle Bag, a Proenza Schouler Large Suede Tobacco PS1 Bag, and a Christian Louboutin nationwide Gift Certificate for $1,000. The package also includes a one-night stay at the Bowery Hotel and a $150 gift certificate to New York’s hottest new restaurant, Pulino’s Bar and Pizzeria.

Bidding currently stands at US$5,000 and closes 2am on Friday 14 May.

want to be anna wintour’s assistant?

If you think you can handle the heat better than Andrea in the Devil Wears Prada could, you have until 2.29am AEST to claim your position as assistant to Anna Wintour, Editor in Chief of US Vogue. If the novel is to be believed, you might head home in tears at the end of each (very) long day and you won’t even be paid for the week-long internship – in fact, you will have to pay for the privilege yourself.

The internship is being auctioned off to raise funds for the RFK Centre for Justice and Human Rights and the week at Vogue will be tailored to the individual interests and skill set of the auction winner. The package also includes two tickets to New York Fashion Week, The September Issue DVD and assorted Vogue books.
